Professional:

Tamra Kiel is a dedicated professional with a rich background in education, disability services, and financial management. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Education from Upper Iowa University in 1991, with endorsements in Language Arts and Reading. Tamra later completed her Master’s degree in Professional Education at Morningside University, with a focus on teacher leadership.

Before embarking on her 29-year career as an elementary educator, Tamra worked for the State of Iowa’s Disability Determinations division within the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation from 1979 to 1991. She is currently expanding her expertise by pursuing coursework in financial management, transitioning her skills and passion for helping others into the financial sector. Throughout her career, Tamra has demonstrated a lifelong commitment to enriching the lives of others, whether guiding students, supporting individuals with disabilities, or leading within her community.

Personal:

Tamra is happily married to her husband, Rick, whose humor and companionship brighten her life every day. Together, they have a blended family of six wonderful adult children, including their spouses, all of whom they consider part of their close-knit family. They are also proud grandparents to seven delightful grandchildren who bring endless joy and blessings.

Tamra and Rick share a love of travel, exploring the United States and abroad, as well as enjoying long walks and quality time with family and friends. She embraces life with a sense of gratitude and purpose, living each day by the motto: “Don’t count the hours, make the hours count.”
